Do you schedule your own campaign around the celestial dictates?

Certainly. My candidacy is Independent, and we work a lot with the Uranium energy. We don't have the same funding that the Republicans and Democrats have, so we utilize advertising when the Uranium energy is strong. Also, when I chose to announce that I was running, I was looking for a pretty auspicious time. You don't pick the retrogrades.

What are your astrological predictions for this election?

Well, I feel that Gore will actually win it.

Is that rationally or astrologically?

Astrologically, both Bush and Gore have something fairly good going on. But I would say that Gore's stars are better.

What are the advantages for Gore in particular?

One thing that really comes up is his Uranium energy, so he has the opportunity of making some very significant changes in his area of career and profession.

One of the things that happens on Election Day is that we have a moon in Pisces. There's a lot of water, and the person who has more emotion has a better edge.

Well, that's Bush, isn't it?

Possibly, but he also has a transiting Pluto squaring his natal Mars. So one of the things that he really has to watch is losing his temper. Bush may be more like Clinton than Gore is because Bush has three planets in Libra. It's almost like a clone.

What about Hillary's race against Rick Lazio?

I happen to feel that she will win. I don't have the time of his birth, but he's a Pisces with a Capricorn moon; he has some energy that isn't the greatest.

What's so great about Hillary's stars?

Hillary's sun is in Scorpio and her moon is in Pisces, but she also has a Gemini ascendant. She has something of a power pack, three planets in Scorpio and three planets in Leo, and they kind of battle between one another, and certainly back in '93,' 94, would have been wretched for her. In two years' time something can come up, and it is important for her to look for any element of innuendo, however, because there might be a lawsuit going on against her. At the time of the election, the sun is on top of her Venus.

What does it mean to have the sun on top of one's Venus?

It could mean that people are going to be affectionate toward you. So she may get a very strong sympathy vote.

What's the most interesting aspect of this election astrologically?

Every 20 years there's a particular conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn coming together in an Earth sign. It is referred to as Tecumseh's Curse. And every president elected in a year ending in zero since 1840 has died in office.

Not Ronald Reagan.

Reagan's conjunction occurred not in an Earth sign, but in an Air sign, and that is why he could survive his assassination attempt. But this next election goes back to an Earth sign. It's likely that the person who is elected to President will not fulfill his term.

What do the stars tell you about your own race?

I am a Libra with a Cancer ascendant with a Virgo moon. I would have to concede that there's an element of rolling a boulder up the mountain right at the moment.

Is that in the stars?

No, that's been more of my own experience.

So you're not quitting your day job?

I don't think so. -Ann Louise Bardach
